Extracurricular Practice Exera Energía 378004
Training project: Energy intensification for industrial engineering with the following details: 1. New electricity regulations and fluctuating electricity prices throughout the day are forcing concentrated solar power (CSP) plants to modify their electricity production strategy to adapt to periods of peak demand on the electrical grid. During these periods, technologies that have become widespread in the last five years are unable to supply energy, such as photovoltaic technology, or cannot supply it reliably, such as wind power. 2. As a result, parabolic trough CSP plants with molten salt storage are considering modifying their generation strategy by storing energy to be injected into the grid later when more convenient. 3. This implies a decrease in efficiency, which can be offset by market prices and the stability provided to the system. 4. An evaluation of these scenarios is proposed to assess the technical and economic feasibility.
