Conference: "The transformer and its new capabilities in the energy transition"

As part of the activities of the Hitachi Energy Chair, on January 13th a conference will be given by Prof. Dr. Xose M. López Fernández  from the Department of Electrical Engineering of the School of Industrial Engineers of Vigo:

"The transformer and its new capabilities in the energy transition".

"The energy transition is redefining the role of the power transformer, traditionally perceived as a static asset, custom-designed and with little interchangeability. Today, the electrification of demand and the massive integration of renewable energies are driving a new generation of transformers with unprecedented capabilities and functional requirements."
This talk addresses, from a practical perspective, the main technological challenges and offers an overview of the innovation lines shaping the next generation of a component critical to the stability and management of the future electrical system. This context of unprecedented opportunities demands the involvement of new generations of engineers.
