Meeting of researchers from the Reinforced Network
Meeting of researchers from the Reinforced Network
Last Wednesday, November 8, 2023, a meeting of the thematic network "Research Network on Autonomous Vehicles and Artificial Intelligence for Water Resource Monitoring (REINFORCED): Technology in Action" took place. Currently, the network comprises 22 nodes, including researchers from eleven national and international universities (University of Seville, University of Cádiz, University of Córdoba, University of Málaga, University of Huelva, Loyola University Andalusia, Comillas Pontifical University, University of Burgos, University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Complutense University of Madrid, and National University of Asunción), the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) through the Institute of Marine Sciences of Andalusia, and companies in the sector (Libelium, AgroAir, Tumirobotics, Andalu-sea, and Artificial Intelligence and Complex Systems Laboratory SRL).
The network is funded by the University of Seville's own Research Plan through the call: Aid for the Constitution and Consolidation of Thematic Networks.
The network's main objective is to create a multidisciplinary working group to advance the study and improvement of water resource monitoring using autonomous vehicles. The network's researchers cover three fundamental scientific pillars to achieve this objective: i) Robotics and Autonomous Vehicle Control, ii) Sensors, Data Management, and Artificial Intelligence, and iii) Water Management and Monitoring.
On November 8th, more than 30 researchers gathered in the Professor Juan Larrañeta Room at the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville for the network's annual meeting. During the meeting, several seminars and discussions were held on the monitoring of water resources using autonomous vehicles.
