The Shanghai Academic by Subject Ranking places several Engineering disciplines, taught at the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville, in the top 500 among universities around the world. Specifically, among the 55 disciplines analyzed, Automation & Control and Civil Engineering are among the best valued, ranking in the range of positions 101-150 worldwide. In the next range of positions, 151-200, is Mathematics .

By areas of knowledge, the branches of Engineering stand out , which presents six disciplines in the top 300 worldwide; Social Sciences , with four disciplines in this range; and Life Sciences and Medical Sciences , with three disciplines each in this range of positions.

At the national level, the first place for Automation & Control and the third place for Civil Engineering , which enters the evaluation for the first time. It is also notable that Mechanical Engineering is placed in the first five positions among Spanish universities, all of them taught at the ETSi.
